Conquering Fears

Fears, we all have them. Man, woman, young, old; no one is excluded from them. We are kidding ourselves if we don’t have them. We are fooling others when we act like or say we don’t have fears.

It doesn’t matter what the fear is, but if we let them they can debilitate us so much that we avoid doing anything to conquer that fear.  Granted, some fears keep us alive and protect us, it’s like listening to our intuition to some extent.  How do we know when to conquer them and when not to is totally up to the individual.  The point is don’t let fear paralyze you where it does not move you to action and make you a better person. Change allows growth. Growth makes us better people allowing us to improve our lives.

There’s two ways to see fear.

fear has two meanings

There are two ways to face fears either gradually or without hesitation and without thinking about it. Feeling the fear and doing it anyway gives you a pump of adrenaline to face the fear and gives you the option to conquer that fear.

If you have a fear of heights, maybe jumping out of an airplane might do the trick or make you see that’s great to face the fear, but makes you realize doing that once is good enough.  If you have a fear of snakes or some kind of animal, that’s quite natural as some are poisonous, wild, or carry some kind of disease, but knowledge of that animal helps you at least know how to deal with them when faced with them. Knowledge is power and that power educates you which in turn helps you face fears.

Envisioning you facing your fear is half the battle.  Picture yourself doing the fear and positive self talk takes time, but the power of suggestion changes your unconscious and subconscious thoughts into conscious ones that will move you to action.  Saying you like or love something is better than saying you hate or dislike something. When you dislike or hate something, it sends out all sorts of negativity into your being and into your life which brings psychosomatic response.

Let’s say you don’t like phones and you have avoided receptionist or switchboard type jobs because of it. Picture yourself doing that job and doing it well, and start saying “I like phone work.” Then once you become comfortable with that, start saying, “I love phone work.” Picture in your mind being able to comfortably & confidently deal with phones.  Once you do that, you have not only mastered your mind over your thoughts you stop your fears from haunting you.  When you are calm and bring peace to your life, you become courageous and brave.  Isn’t that something we all want!

  1. I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Excellent work!

    1. Thank you so very much! I created the website/blog myself through WordPress as they make it very easy. I did not hire a designer as it is a theme on WordPress.

  2. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see such fantastic information being shared freely out there.
