Did you know restaurants make the most out of their avocados? When they make guacamole, some use tomatoes and onions in it and others use the following ingredients. Whether you like tomatoes or onions in it, know those ingredients change the taste of avocados because it waters them down.
Lettuce — Iceberg or Romaine, cut very finely which is dried off to get as much water off of the lettuce.
Sour Cream used just enough to lighten the color of the avocado.
Plain Yogurt such as Greek as it is a thicker consistency than most plain yogurts; used just enough to enhance the flavor. Some restaurants use a combination of yogurt and sour cream.
Cheese — Feta or some kind of Goat’s Milk cheese or a Mexican crumbling cheese; they use a soft cheese that is easy to break down in with the avocado that way it is easy to blend together.
There are many variations of guacamole from using jalapenos or peas. Seasonings such as basil, coriander, chili or cayenne pepper are used. The fact is when making it at home, all you need is 3 ingredients; salt, fresh lemon or lime juice, & avocado which I share here.
